Term 2

This term was full of public holidays and short weeks. It flew by! But that doesn’t mean we were lazy at all! Our themes were so much fun and we had lots of extra celebrations too, like Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, etc. The Easter Bunny even stopped by and spent a little time with us!

Here is a sneak peak at week one of Houses from around the world:

On Monday we learnt about igloos, that they’re made out of ice and snow, that Eskimos live in them, that we can’t build them here because it’s too warm. On Tuesday we learnt about teepees. Did you know the Mommies were the boss of the inside and Daddies were only the boss of the outside? If the mom said “go to bed”, EVERYONE had to go to bed. Wednesday was all about castles. About their moats and high walls. We watched a slide show each day to see the interior and exterior of different types of igloos, teepees and castles. Today we made ice cream cone teepees. After this we will focus on the more traditional style houses, flats, huts. Our Bible story was The wise man vs the foolish man. We listened to Aunty Jeanne tell us the story about the wise man who built his house upon the rock and the foolish man that built his house on the sand. (Matthew 7:24-27). We buttered the foolish man’s house and ate it up, just like the storm. It’s better to listen to Jesus than to be silly. WWJD!

We are very blessed to have an amazing Orange Tree in our playground. It was so full of oranges this year that for weeks all we had to do was pick as many as we could carry and cut them up for a deliciously healthy snack.

Keep checking in for more posts. And please feel free to leave us a comment!

Movie night/Date night

Stories and making fridge magnets, Monster fun!

After mud huts, teepees, castles and igloos, we finally build a normal house
